SRN adopted studies

The SRN's role is to facilitate recruitment of stroke patients to research studies that have been adopted on to the UKCRN portfolio. you can find a list of all SRN studies by searching for stroke on the UKCRN database, which can be accessed here.

Across the North West there are currently more than 20 studies actively recruiting.

Developing the portfolio

We are also interested in helping researcher to develop new studies into stroke care. We can do this in several ways:

• We have prepared a gudance sheet for new researchers, which you can download here.
• Members of our steering group have expertise in developing protocols and applying for funding. They will be happy to advise you.
• Our consumer reference panels can provide comments from a patient perspective on protocols, patient information sheets, lay summaries for fundong bodies and other aspects of study design.
• We can put you in touch with bodies that can provide further advice on protocol design and funding applications.
• In collaboration with the NW Research Design Service we are held a workshop on 23rd February 2010 to provide stroke-specific training for potential researchers wishing to apply for funding.
